Als der hochdekorierte Polizist Malcolm Toohey (Joel Edgerton) nach einem Unfall mit einem Radfahrer Fahrerflucht begeht und vorgibt, nur als Ersthelfer am Unfallort eingetroffen zu sein, ändert sich sein Leben dramatisch. Das Opfer ist noch ein Kind und es liegt nach dem Unfall im Koma. Die Detectives Carl Summer (Tom Wilkinson) und Jim Melic (Jai Courtney) nehmen die Ermittlungen auf. Malcolm plagen Schuldgefühle, doch die Wahrheit darf niemals ans Licht kommen, denn das würde seine Karriere zerstören. Während Summer versucht, die Fakten zu vertuschen, will Jim den wahren Täter finden. (Wild Bunch Germany)

Well executed police drama that has one major flaw, it’s predictability. The film never goes into the less beaten track, doesn’t look at it, doesn’t even try to look at it. Given how banal the main storyline is, it would be nice if it at least waded deeper into the moral mud of the protagonist’s soul and also had a bigger catharsis in the end, but there’s not much of either. So, a watchable but not entirely satisfactory film.
