This new comedy series follows former superstar Spencer Strasmore (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) as he gets his life on track in retirement while mentoring other current and former players through the daily grind of the business of football. Written by Steve Levinson, BALLERS is exploring the lives of a group of former and current football players. Dwayne Johnson stars as Spencer Strasmore, a retired athlete. Other characters in the series include Charles, an affable former pro athlete who is searching for his next career; Ricky, a highly competitive and highly spiritual pro athlete; Joe, a financial advisor who tries really hard to fit in; Jason, a top-tier sports agent; Vernon, a deeply family-oriented pro athlete; Julie, wife of an ex-pro athlete; Stephanie Michaels, an ESPN sideline reporter who is romantically involved with Spencer; and Tina, widow to one of Spencer's closest friends.
