Samantha (Allison Miller) und Zach McCall (Zach Gilford) sind auf ihrer Hochzeitsreise. Nach einer rätselhaften Nacht, an die sich beide nicht mehr erinnern können, wird Samantha schwanger. Zach hält die Schwangerschaft mit der Kamera fest und bemerkt dabei, dass Samantha sich seltsam verändert, was das junge Paar aber zunächst dem Stress zuschreibt. Als die Monate jedoch vergehen, wird deutlich, dass die mysteriösen Veränderungen ihres Körpers und ihres Geistes einen viel unheilvolleren Ursprung haben... (Fox Deutschland)

Nicht aussteigen, ich mache weiter! Die "Hand Cam" -Fahrt und der FF-Horror hören nicht auf, anstatt stellt es sein nächstes Juwel vor. Devil's Due ist leider nur ein Produkt von der Fließbandlinie, in das die Einfüger offensichtlich versucht haben, alle Zutaten zu stopfen, um den Massenzuschauern zumindest ein wenig zu gefallen und zu schmecken. Auf dem Weg des Antichristen aus dem Mutterleib geht ihrer abnormalen Kraft und erhöhten Aggressivität voraus, der Hass auf die Kirche und die Lust auf etwas Wild. Plus die Diener des Teufels, aber das ist egal, sie spielen nur die dritte Geige. Ich werde jedoch nicht eine ganz böse Sau sein und das sympathische Hauptduo sowie die Waldszene loben, in der einige Leute das Fliegen lernen. Trotzdem ist der Film kaum halb, also meine Note von 33,3 sei klar symbolisch.

It’s far from great, but I think my colleagues here and in IMDB are being too critical. Devil's Due is an unremarkable, and derivative found-footage that doesn’t bring anything new to the genre, it simply recycles stuff that we have seen several (many) times in recent years. But at least it isn’t about a group of documentarists lost in the woods... I liked the two protagonists and the effective shocker ending (it reminded me of the 10/31/98 segment from the first V/H/S by the same director). 5/10

No, I am not at all satisfied with the result of the movie "The Birth of the Devil". For me, it's just another found footage film that thinks it can bring something new and fresh by using this filming style that has been done so many times before. For me, it absolutely doesn't bring anything, and I suffered for an hour and a half with something that doesn't have the ability to surprise me, and especially something that doesn't have any atmosphere and cannot scare me even for a moment.
