Kolumbien, 1983. Nick ist mit seinem Bruder Dylan eingewandert, um an einem der Traumstrände des Landes ein Surfcamp aufzubauen. One almost wonders what they actually wanted to fit in as a story about Pablo Escobar, but as the film approaches its conclusion and builds up, the viewer realizes that in the second half it is not that bad, even though it is actually expected. Benicio handles every role, but Josh surprised me, as it surprisingly fit him in the tougher half.

After watching Narcos, I'll take anything by Escobar, and I also enjoyed this one a lot. Benicio Del Toro was absolutely flawless as Escobar, even though the plot focused mainly on Josh Hutcherson falling in love with Escobar's niece and that brings trouble. The final half-hour is packed with so much tension that I almost didn't breathe. Very good and rough. 80%.
