Die Highschoool-Footballmanschaft der 'Spartans' wird vom Schicksal gebeutelt. Nach 151 in Folge gewonnenen Spielen verliert das siegesverwöhnte Team das erste Match. Coach Bob Ladouceur, der den Spielern auch als Religionslehrer zur Seite steht, überlebt mit Glück einen schweren Herzinfarkt. Und ein Mitspieler wird unter tragischen Umständen erschossen. Trotz aller Rückschläge eint die Spartans das Ziel, ihre Spitzenposition zurückzugewinnen. (ORF)

Incredibly weak film, where the most important things are said at the beginning. You can also find something about it on Wikipedia, as well as about the coach. The film tries to play on emotions, but it's unbelievably superficial, that it may not even be worth positively evaluating. Laura Dern basically doesn't really act in it, Jim Caviezel puts on his traditional suffering expression. Movies about boxing and baseball are usually great, but apparently not about American football.
