Von seinem bisherigen Leben enttäuscht, zieht Wallace Avery (Colin Firth) dramatische Konsequenzen. Er lässt seine geschiedene Frau und seinen Sohn zurück und täuscht seinen Tod vor - um als "Arthur Newman" ein neues Leben zu beginnen. Exactly as Emma53 stated in her review, Colin Firth and Emily Blunt don’t fit together at all, but maybe that’s the whole point of this film. The clash of their very different lives and miseries created a bond that might help both of them. Unfortunately, this happens in the form of rather sad and gloomy testimonies that don’t do much to spark joy. A human but incredibly sad movie.
