When Kazio was born, all of Poland was staring at their television sets. It was 1977, the Polish soccer team was playing the game of the century and Kazimierz Deyna, one of the most famous soccer players of his generation, just scored his most famous goal. The boy was named Kazimierz (or Kazio) after him. This is his story; born in communist Poland, raised in the tumultuous times of political transition, and entered the new millennium with a family of his own. The day Kazio's wife gives birth to their baby daughter, all of Poland is once again watching a soccer game on television: Poland is beating Portugal. A humorous story about growing up, falling in love and life's choices, in which Deyna and Boniek score goals, white socks become an aphrodisiac, desire leads to purity, and a traditional Polish mother crushes Eastern markets.
