Elephant Whisperer

This is the personal story of one small womans fight to save one of the planets largest animals. Lek has saved hundreds of Asian elephants from abuse, street begging and hardship over the past 20 years, despite constant opposition and death threats. Working from her sanctuary in remote northern Thailand, we follow Lek as she tries to save a number of elephants. With Thailands culture undergoing rapid change, the elephants once important role as a working animal is increasingly under threat. Experts predict the Asian elephant faces extinction within four decades, so her work is needed now more than ever. (Verleiher-Text)
