Benjamin is the scapegoat for any calamity. But when incidents happen wherever he goes, police and colleagues begin to eye him suspiciously. To find out who is interested in ruining his life, he begins his own investigation. There is something strange - some would even say abnormal - about the Malaussène family. But if you take a closer look, no one could be happier than this cheerfully chaotic family, with a mother who carelessly accumulates children as she leaps from one romantic adventure to another. Life is never a bore for Benjamin Malaussène, the older brother responsible for this horde of kids and the eternal scapegoat in the department store where he works. But when incidents happen wherever he goes, police and colleagues begin to eye him suspiciously. It soon becomes a matter of life and death to find out what is going on and who is so interested in ruining his life. To clear his name, Benjamin begins his own investigation, assisted by an intrepid journalist nicknamed Aunt Julia. (Verleiher-Text)

It says drama, but I feel it’s more of a comedy. I mean so many coincidences at once would mess up pretty much anybody. Speaking for myself, I can say that this comedy really surprised me at uneasy times and some of its scenes really helped improve my mood. If I’d been in a good mood to start with, I guess I would have given the movie a four-star review. The movie was absurd enough for that. So maybe next time.
