Stein der Geduld

A war hero lies comatose in a village at the foot of the Kabul mountains. At his side his young wife prays to bring him back to life. A fratricidal war is tearing the village apart, the frontline is right outside their door. The wife must flee with their two children, abandoning her husband to find refuge on the other side of town, in a brothel run by her aunt. Back to check on her husband, she is forced to have sex with a young combatant. Against all expectations, she begins to reveal the woman she is, to become aware of her own body, and for the first time to talk openly to her husband about her memories, her most intimate desires...and her most shameful secrets.
