A 60 year old man is murdered in a small village in Mazury. Six villagers are involved in the crime. The victim turns out to be a repeat offender who had terrorised the inhabitants of the area for many years. The men had no prior record and argue that they acted in self-defense. Yet they are accused of premeditated murder and are caught up in the ruthless mecanisms of the police investigation and trial.
