Nachdem mehrere Abstimmungen kein Ergebnis brachten, wird Claire als kommissarische Präsidentin vereidigt. Schon kurze Zeit später steht sie vor ihrer ersten Bewährungsprobe. In der Arktis kommt es zu einem aggressiven Übergriff von russischen Truppen. Sie haben eine amerikanische Forschungsstation übernommen. Es liegt nun an Claires diplomatischem Geschick, den Konflikt mit dem russischen Präsidenten Petrov zu lösen. Doch Petrov hat noch ein Ass im Ärmel. (ORF)

For the way some of the plot lines are dissected in detail, there is a leap forward in feeling by at least 2 episodes. I even checked to see if I had skipped any episodes. A bit hard to understand, but a very sensible move for the overall concept of the fifth season, and one that certainly won't lose its suspense.

The sixth episode entertained me a bit more than the previous one, Claire Underwood achieved her goal (at least temporarily), but what I mainly liked was the humorous development of Will Conway's character, there's nothing like a balanced psyche. On the other hand, I had the impression that important matters were postponed for later, and I had to watch some irrelevant scenes.
