Victor Kaufmann und Rudi Smekal sind Freunde seit ihrer Kindheit. Doch Victor landet im KZ und Rudi bei den Nazis. Als Rudi Victor aus dem KZ nach Berlin bringen soll, ändert sich alles. A comedy with no humor, a drama without tension and a great theme wasted. This could have been made into a tense drama about a big friendship/hatred. This could have been made into a crazy comedy and black humor criticism of hypocrisy and going with the flow. For some strange reasons, it is that nice and pleasant type of movie, taking no sides and for all generations - that you can take your mom and grandma to the movie theater to watch; basically what we always criticize. Nothing wrong with that really, it isn’t bad in any specific way, but you get feelings of regret at moments when just how good it could have been shines through (for instance most of the situations after they changed places).
