Der 19-jährige Nathan Harper stößt bei den Recherchen für eine Klassenarbeit im Internet auf ein Bild, das ihn als vermisstes Kind zeigt. Kevin und Mara Harper sind also nicht seine leiblichen Eltern. Kurz darauf werden die beiden von skrupellosen Killern ermordet. Nathan gelingt mit Freundin Karen die Flucht. Von dem zwielichtigen Agenten Burton erfährt er, dass der ehemalige russische Spion Victor Kozlow seine Schergen nach ihm ausgeschickt hat. Aber auch die CIA hat ihn im Visier. Um zu überleben, muss Nathan das Geheimnis seiner Identität entschlüsseln. (ORF)

When I was about fifteen, Abduction was the movie of the year. Lily Collins looks great like never before, Michael Nyqvist breathes villainously and when the viewer tries a little, Taylor does well too. At least during the fights and tense moments, I forgive him, but unfortunately at the moment when he is supposed to have fun carelessly or look romantically at his idol, I can only helplessly close my eyes, because it doesn't work and probably won't work anymore. But when Singleton lets CIA agents shoot without any consequences and casts ageless Sigourney or perfectly typified Isaacs in supporting roles, I don't feel like mentioning the significant logical lapses and just enjoy this teenage adrenaline rush. 70%
