Greta hat diesen Film tatsächlich als ihren 9. Tonfilm gedreht. Die acht davor sind also zu wenig? Außerdem hat es keiner der 2089 Kritiker des Remakes (außer meiner Wenigkeit) bis hierher geschafft? Wie typisch... (13.02.2009)

I actually liked the more modern version with Edward Norton and Naomi Watts a little bit more, especially because the ending was stronger. However, that doesn't change the fact that this dramatic romance still works after eighty years, and "The Painted Veil" shouldn't disappoint any film fan. (16.05.2014)
