Die hübsche, aber oberflächliche Juliette kommt aus dem Waisenhaus in die Obhut des kinderlosen Ehepaares Morin, das in Saint Tropez eine kleine Buch- und Zeitschriftenhandlung betreibt. Aber mehr und mehr missfällt es Madame Morin, dass Juliette die Männer des Ortes mit magischer Gewalt anzuziehen scheint. Um nicht zurück ins Waisenhaus zu müssen, heiratet Juliette den schüchternen Michel, dem sie jedoch nicht lange treu bleibt. (ORF)

Roger Vadim wrote a script on the body, and I mean literally. The final scene, where BB dances, is something that leaves no man indifferent. It is sensual, it is beautiful, it has wildness in it. With this film, Roger Vadim created Brigitte in a way that most people later knew and admired her. It almost suggests a paraphrase of the title to "Et Vadim... created Brigitte". But it's about creating a woman, a woman who can bring deep emotions to men's hearts, both love and hatred, because such a beautiful woman also carries risks. The risk of being loved by everyone and not being properly able to love anyone.
