Bad Teacher

Eine überraschend gute Komödie. Wegen Cameron Diaz hatte ich eigentlich keine Lust, mir diesen Film anzuschauen. Die lächelnden und dummen Püppchen, auf denen sie ihre Karriere aufgebaut hat, mag ich nämlich nicht. Hier spielt sie aber keine "Sexbombe" = Hurra! Sie ist eine freche, vulgäre, saufende Zicke, der es an erster Stelle um Geld und an zweiter Stelle um sich selbst geht und die schon lange permanent Augenringe hat. Kurzum, eine ideale, ungewöhnliche Figur – und außerdem toll gespielt. Das Pärchen, welches nach einer halben Stunde angewidert das Kino verlassen hat, hat so etwas wahrscheinlich nicht erwartet. Ja, ein Großteil des Humors basiert auf dem Konflikt der Heldin mit dem "normalen" Rest der Welt. Wenn Sie sich aber auf dieses Spiel einlassen, werden Sie Spaß haben. Sie werden auch eine gelungene Szene sehen, in der die Lehrerin einem Schüler erklärt, warum sein Traummädchen kein Interesse an ihm hat. Sie sagt es direkt, hart, aber wahrheitsgemäß. Ich fand es jedoch schade, dass ein Film, der die ganze Zeit auf Klischees gepfiffen hat, ein so vorhersehbares Ende hat. Minuspunkte gibt es auch für die überflüssige und peinliche Bettszene. Bad Teacher hat schwache vier Sterne verdient, was eigentlich so etwas wie eine 2- ist. Und über so eine Zensur habe ich mich immer gefreut. (21.08.2011)

Cameron Diaz combined with Justin Timberlake and Jason Segel just makes it enticing... but no one warns you beforehand that Timberlake is playing a complete idiot, Jason Segel doesn't get much of a chance to show what he can do, and it's as good as ever with Cameron. Some of the black-humor jokes were pretty good, but I was insanely bored for a while. Cam looked like a posh twenty-something one day and the next day I couldn't count the wrinkles on her face. In short, I found her role, character, and appearance terribly disjointed. The script is also bland, so I definitely won't get above 3 stars. (09.08.2011)

I don't know if it was intentional - but probably yes - to create a character that is as pleasant as hemorrhoids. Cameron Diaz is past her prime, and nobody can tell me otherwise. To me, she's as sexy as a death woman who puts on a mask. But I don't blame her, she looks good, it's just a question of how natural it is. What's positive about the movie are the male characters. Jason Segel is personally one of the best comedians of recent years. He's incredibly versatile, both as an actor and as a screenwriter. "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" is one of the best romantic comedies of recent times, he even managed to revive "The Muppets", not to mention his musical talent. He proves that in the series "How I Met Your Mother", but also in "The Muppets". In "Bad Teacher", he has very little space, but he used it perfectly and almost stole the film for himself. The casting of Justin Timberlake's role was also great, personally, he shows once again that his acting career was not a mistake. He can make a fool out of himself, and I definitely appreciate that. However, the movie itself is shallow, stupid, and unfunny, every moment Cameron Diaz appeared was torture for me. Diaz and the cringeworthy Timberlake, plus Marshal from How I Met Your Mother but embarrassingly rotten. Just sex, boobs and profanity; a waste of time. I can’t understand how anyone would watch or make this… y’all should all think about your lives. (03.09.2011)

Negatives: 1) I’m not very fond of Cameron Diaz. 2) Jason Segel's acting seems like a bad joke to me. 3) The authors could have gotten more out of Elizabeth. 4) Predictable plot. Positives: 1) Cameron Diaz wasn’t all that annoying in this film. 2) Justin Timberlake played exactly the kind of homo I consider him to be. 3) the character of Lynn Davis - confident and determined under all circumstances. 4) criticism of small-town hypocrisy.
