Nachdem die Gruppe durch einen Zombie-Angriff von Hershels Farm vertrieben wurde, sind die Überlebenden wieder ohne Rückzugsort. Da dies kein Dauerzustand sein kann - Loris Schwangerschaft schreitet immer weiter fort und die Beißer werden immer gefährlicher – machen sie sich auf die Suche nach einer neuen Bleibe. Sie stoßen auf ein Gefängnis, das zwar von Untoten nur so wimmelt, in dem aber auch reichliche Vorräte vorhanden sind. Die Gruppe beginnt das weitläufige Gebäude von den Zombies zu befreien und stößt dabei an ihre Grenzen... (RTL II)

The first episode of the third series is among those rich in content, the plot doesn't stagnate, something is constantly happening and the viewer cannot have a momentary feeling that this episode was only created to artificially prolong the story. On the contrary, the atmosphere is bleak, tension is not lacking, and there is no reason for a person to think about whether it would be necessary to repaint the apartment.
