Follow the fun, follow the fleet, Follow the Boys with four seagulls - Navy wives and sweethearts who careen around the French and Italian Riviera in a beat-up jalopy, trying to keep up with their seagoing menfolk. After America's teens made Where The Boys Are a breakthrough hit, two of that comedy's stars, Connie Francis and Paula Prentiss, reunited for this follow-up that, like its predecessor, relies on Francis' mighty pipes for song and on romantic mix-ups and mismatches for laughs. The girls (Janis Paige and Danny Robin round out the quartet) are glamorous, but even they can't out-wow the scenery: Nice, Cannes, Santa Margherita Ligure and white-sand-fringed, brilliantly blue Mediterranean. Klassische amerikanische positive Kriegspropaganda, unsterblich gemacht durch die Leistung von Marlene Dietrich und Orson Welles. Ihre Zaubernummer beschreibt den damaligen Status der beiden, nämlich Magier und A-Star mit den besten Beinen ;) Privat waren sie befreundet, und als Orson Hilfe bei der Fertigstellung von Im Zeichen des Bösen brauchte, war es Marlene, die sofort herbeieilte, sich nicht bezahlen ließ und ihr Kostüm aus Goldene Ohrringe wunderbar recycelte.
