Mika Kaurismäki has a similar style to his brother, and at times it's not clear whether you're watching a comedy or a drama. It was this duality, which works so well, that I liked. Moreover, the humor is subtle, the story is darkly humorous, the characters are interesting, and even though it's nothing groundbreaking in terms of plot - all the elements you've seen somewhere before - as a whole, it's great.
