Während Megan (Shoshanna Bush) bei der berühmten Juilliard School vortanzt, verunglückt ihre Mutter bei einem Autounfall tödlich. Die Halbwaise gibt nach diesem traumatischen Erlebnis ihren Traum vom Tanzen auf und zieht zu ihrem chaotischen Vater in die Stadt. Dort schreibt sie sich an der Musical High ein und freundet sich mit Charity (Essence Atkins) und deren Bruder Thomas (Damon Wayans Jr.) an, die neben ihrer Ausbildung auch noch in einer Street-Dance-Gang tanzen. Thomas bewegt Megan dazu, wieder mit dem Tanzen anzufangen, und die beiden stellen eine ultimative Crew zusammen, um bei einem Tanzwettbewerb 5.000 Dollar abzustauben... (Paramount Pictures Germany)

In this movie, we saw a half of the Wayans family. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if every black person in that movie was a member of that enormous family, because that could have filled the bill just fine. It’s just a shame that this movie is so awfully stupid; and I don’t usually have a problem with their comedies. But I thought that this movie could have slammed all the dance movies that have surfaced recently. And I’m not saying it didn’t, but most of the jokes that made me laugh were stolen and the other jokes were gross – sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. And I think that’s been completely uncalled for in parodies for quite some time now.
