Comicfan Dave Lizewski wundert sich, warum bislang noch keiner auf die Idee gekommen ist, als realer Superheld gegen Gangster anzukämpfen. Kurzerhand begibt sich der Teenager im Neoprenanzug als 'Kick-Ass' auf Schurkenjagd. Nach ersten Rückschlägen avanciert er zum gefeierten Internetstar. So wird er bald von anderen Superhelden kontaktiert. 'Hit Girl' und 'Big Daddy' gehen jedoch ernsthafter und härter an die Sache heran.
