Formally most radical Fliegauf's work, but also his top one: in only ten static takes he presents ten refined film koans, suitable both for the archetypal darkness of cinema screening rooms and for the multidisciplinary zone in galleries. Spontaner Zen, der lediglich in Folge einer Kurzgeschichte mit Containern leicht getrübt wird, in der Fliegauf nicht den freien Fluss der Dinge sondern soziale Kommentare walten lässt. Andere "statische" Darbietungen sind zweifelsohne genial und testen die Fähigkeit des Zuschauers, ein Bild geduldig zu lesen, nicht nur mit der Verwendung von Rationalität, sondern vor allem dank Emotionen. Fliegauf brachte die Filmleinwand näher an die Galerie heran und das Ansehen eines Filmes an die Meditation. Milky Way erfüllt wirklich den Untertitel eines ambienten Filmes, weil der Streifen es vermag unauffällig "im Hintergrund" zu bleiben sein und gleichzeitig die Wahrnehmung von Zeit und Raum maßgeblich mitzubestimmen. Eine der meisterhaften Verwendungseweisen der Narrativität in ihrer "elementaren" Form.

At first, out of benevolence, I didn't want to give it any rating because I hadn't even finished watching it, but when I think back on the film, I'm increasingly annoyed with it. A film where absolutely nothing that makes any rational sense happens is simply not a matter worthy of praise or interest to me. Even more now, on the other hand, I feel the need to extol a classic narrative that can reach the viewer and even keep them awake – this is interesting perhaps only because of how audaciously uninteresting it is.

From an artistic point of view, Milky Way doesn't have a single flaw, but I'm probably not in the mood right now to meditate on the slowly unfolding life scenes. However, I must appreciate that in most of the images, with a little good will, one can find unexpected and quite often significant points. (65%)
