Englisch The "pattern" of see-have-fun-forget is applied to a silly fairytale fantasy (with the identical twin of Timothy Olyphant!), which is not taken seriously and is not in any way ashamed nor it apologizes for what it is. An unambitious bullshit with all genre transgressions and clichés. But once in a while it is fun, that is true. ()

Englisch Haha, the way I rated it, suddenly red was blue. :-D Will it hold up? If I hadn't gone to the FilmBooster screening, but bought a ticket normally, I'd probably have mourned it at the end of the movie, thinking that maybe a McDonald’s love-in-a-bun would have been money better spent. It's not a complete disaster, but the story is thinner than a stool in dysentery, the characters are flatter than Voldy's nose, and the best part of the whole film is the fight scenes, the bulk of which can, of course, be described as follows: Hop here, hop there, the bad guy gets cut, yells ouch but is no longer hampered by his injuries, hop here, hop there, slice slice and the bad guy is dead. The film is very instructive though, because by the end you know that the only way to take on witches is with a flamethrower. Another plus was Jeff Bridges, his "rich baritone" (so it didn't matter what he said) and now and then he said a corny line to make us laugh (and we did laugh, but many were obviously ashamed of it and so only gave the film one star or the trash can). And quite nice effects. What was it about?! ()

Englisch Sluggish pace and cheap twists, and the effects aren’t very good, either. The only things worth noting are the wisecracking Bridges and the hellishly sexy Alicia Vikander. ()

Englisch Average but actually enjoyable fantasy. Of course, if it wasn’t for the flawless Jeff Bridges nobody would give a damn. ()

Englisch The main stumbling blocks in Seventh Son were the casting of Ben Barnes as the main character (he didn't give a brilliant performance in The Narnia movies either), and the rather shallow script, which made even stars like Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges seem exceedingly unlikeable. From a visual standpoint, it was quite appealing, but when the film comes across as silly, even the best-looking dragons and other monsters can't save it. All in all, a pretty big disappointment in the form of a fantasy that was dealt the biggest blow by the script (and Barnes). ()

Englisch It's just an average fantasy that is too mainstream to be truly edgy, and too fairy-tale-like to attract a more mature audience. But it has everything you expect from fantasy - action, beautiful nature, various races, and dragons. Plus, the incredibly beautiful Julianne Moore looks stunning here like nowhere else, and Jeff Bridges, who carries the whole movie for me. ()
