Don Draper ist angespannt, da er auf einen wichtigen Anruf von Stephanie aus Kalifornien wartet. Die Zeit für eine neue Kampagne drängt und die Ideen seines Teams gefallen ihm ganz und gar nicht. Darum weist er Peggy, die eigentlich ihren Geburtstag feiert will, an, das Konzept noch einmal zu überarbeiten. Die sollte aber eigentlich beim Dinner mit ihrem Freund Mark sein, der wutentbrannt Schluss macht, als sie im schließlich absagt. Deprimiert kehrt Peggy zurück ins Büro und erzählt Don von dem Telefonat. Don reagiert allerdings wenig verständnisvoll. Aufgebracht wirft Peggy Don daraufhin vor, dass er ihre Arbeit nicht schätzt und sie unfair behandelt. (ZDF)

Once again in the fourth season, the creators delivered an episode that wasn't entirely typical, yet it oddly resonated with me. There was more to it than what appeared on the screen. This time, it wasn't about humor; rather, I saw how skillfully Americans can play with viewers' emotions without it being the central plot or descending into melodrama. / Lesson learned: Take a break from time to time and try self-reflection.
