Der Modefotograf Vincent scheint vom Pech verfolgt: seine Ehe ist mittlerweile nicht mehr als ein Scherbenhaufen, zudem entflammt ein bitterer Sorgerechtsstreit um seine beiden Kinder. Da schleicht sich völlig unerwartet Plender, ein alter Bekannter aus Schulzeiten, in Vincents Leben. Als Vincent von dem Model Sofia der Vergewaltigung beschuldigt wird, steht ihm Plender zunächst hilfreich zur Seite. Doch Plender spielt ein falsches Spiel und zieht Vincent in einen Sumpf aus Mord und Erpressung! Der Psychopath ist besessen davon, Vincent zu schaden und plant eiskalt seine Existenz zu zerstören. The problem with this film lies not in working with a worn-out plot that has been used a hundred times - after all, the motive of hatred and revenge is eternal - it's rather that in an effort to achieve proper effects, it pushes too hard, forgets about logic, and drowns itself in genre clichés. From the escape from the judicial palace, the game that started promisingly becomes an increasingly stronger spasm, burying the decent casting (in some cases going against established role types - see the sympathetic performance of Pierre Richard). Overall impression: 40%.
