One of the first films by Takashi Miike that I really didn't enjoy very much. The theme itself interested me - a scoundrel returning to society from prison and wanting to better himself - but the execution itself stands out only in a few scenes. Overall, it's really more kitschy and you only wait for some bloodshed or maybe an interesting scene with a helicopter.
