Tintenherz

Movies that play with imagination, try to captivate us with their creativity, are popular, are constantly being made, and will continue to be made. "Inkheart" belongs to them, and like most of these films, it falls within the average range. "Night at the Museum" or "Bedtime Stories" belong exactly to the same category as "Inkheart". They play with history, fairy tales, and bring them to life in our world. These are movies that won't necessarily blow you away, but as family films, they are quite enjoyable. "Inkheart" was adapted from a book of the same name. The author actually wrote a trilogy, but I doubt that this originally German trilogy will make it to the cinemas as a whole. "Inkheart" is an enjoyable film, but that's about it. Brendan Fraser has the talent to choose average and below-average films, which is a bit of a shame because he is definitely an actor who can perform. Here he delivers his standard performance, just like everyone else. Although it is a fantastical story, there isn't as much imagination as could be used. It could have been grander, more beautiful, but it's just... sufficient. A nice film for an afternoon, but neither you nor your children, if you have any, will be too thrilled by it.
