Motel Hell

Motel Hell or The Secret of Making Pork Delicacies. It hints more at being a comedy, but it is in fact much more so an unbelievably chatty B-movie that drags on for an hour and a half, only to end with an absolutely bombastic battle at the butcher's line with a guy with two chainsaws in his hands and a pig mask on his head. It should have had more obscure scenes, like the cultivation of the garden, where seedlings were replaced by living human bodies (particularly the harvest is really impressive), and then this motel would have been worth more than just a way to kill a 100 minutes. Der Horror-Klamauk ist so verrückt, dass man zwangsläufig Spaß haben muss (und das gilt erst recht für den hartgesottenen Zuschauer). Das durchgeknallte Geschwisterpaar zieht neben dem Gemüse auch wehrlose menschliche Kürbisse im Garten hinter dem Haus auf, deren Überreste dann hervorragend als geheime Zutat für beliebte Wurstwaren dienen. Die Erreichung völliger Absurdität wird zudem von der sexy Blondine unterstützt (ja, sie zeigt ihre Brüste und es lohnt sich definitiv, darauf zu warten), die als naive Opfer schnell ihren toten Akku vergisst und sich in den psychopathischen Bauern verliebt. Stockholm-Syndrom mäßig! Und die Dialoge sind eine Geschichte für sich. Also wirklich lustig, wenn man keinen ernsten Hixploitation-Film a la Texas Chainsaw Massacre und ähnlichen Kumpels erwartet. The film Motel Hell has some great scenes that you'll remember. The problem is that those scenes are part of a whole that isn't as great overall. I don't know what it is, but it's just missing something to make it work as a complex horror film. Perhaps less humor or more... but the heads are great, the pig's head as well.
