I expected the worst, even though the first instalment is great and the second one is watchable. The beginning was so brutal that I was wondering whether it was a soccer movie at all. The scenes from the filming of some hardcore porn were often beyond my understanding. But then the championship in Germany began and the whole movie changed completely. The championship scenes were awesome and I did not even mind the various entries of the filmmaking crew. However, the movie was quite ruined by the beginning as it made me think about switching it off. In the end, I didn’t and as a movie fan I was really glad for those scenes. The long shot of Beckham shooting a goal from a direct kick is really awesome. Too bad it wasn’t originally filmed for the movie. But otherwise I probably wouldn’t have seen it. From the filmmaking side, it’s still terrible. Two stars purely for the soccer madness and the scenes portraying it.
