(Verleiher-Text)

Englisch The main hero must search for a way from the bottom to the top, the main heroine must be rich, determined and sensitive beauty, the friend must not understand the hero's motivation and the love rival must be a cunning villain. The music is monotonous and the story is insanely schematic with a serious, but completely senseless and unnecessary twist. The whole "street adventure" line is also filmed so routinely that at times I almost prayed for the debut director lady to show me another attempt at a special ballet r'n'b crossover. Bad, bad, bad. And the worst part is how many people still listen to such pieces. ()

Englisch Dance films usually have one fundamental problem. The dance elements are excellent, but the story is somewhat mediocre. "Dirty Dancing" could only be one, and even it is not perfect from a screenwriting perspective. Nevertheless, interesting problems are addressed here. "Let's Dance" - by the way, the Czech title is perfection itself, instead of using another English one - is a film that tried to follow in the footsteps of "Dirty Dancing". It wants to address not only joys, but also hardships, some problems so crucial that they are literally questions of life and death. However, at its core, it remains the same. A romantic film set in a dance environment. This is not surprising though. Good writing is not expected from a dance film; what should be decisive are the dance numbers themselves, which can elevate the film to a higher level. The initial idea of the film "Let's Dance" is good. It should be a combination of ballet and street dance. As I said, as an idea, it is quite interesting, but the execution is somewhat lacking. The problem is that the plotline takes away from the dance numbers. The main dance number is then in the finale - of course - but it is also somehow short and ultimately seems unsatisfying. I think that is a shame. If there were more dance here, I believe the film would gain the right momentum. The problem is that there is a lack of sexual tension that dominated in Dirty Dancing. The relationship between the main characters is perhaps too romantic with the classic obstacles, which is simply a cliché. When a film offers little dance, but it is a dance film, somewhere a mistake has probably been made. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2012/12/sherrybaby-lets-dance-unesena.html ()
