Englisch Chromophobia reminds me of a hunter who goes out to shoot in the woods and doesn't really care what he brings home, as long as there is as much as possible. Well, the woman, I mean the viewer, will definitely get something from it, so the positive outcome of this trip must be guaranteed. Without any problems, he shoots at deer, squirrels, and occasionally even a few shrews. This film has a lot of topics, mostly so serious that each one of them would be enough for a separate film, and it introduces so many characters with great potential that it is unbelievable how insignificant the film is in the end. Chromophobia combines both ethical intimate dramas that viewers know from Atom Egoyan's work and popular mosaic collages like Babel or 21 Grams. But unlike 21 Grams, Chromophobia cannot hold the viewer's attention throughout and its ability to evoke human emotions is minimal for the majority of its duration. The film feels distant and cold, just like the sterile cold interior of the protagonist's metal and glass-filled home. The problem is also the unsympathetic characters, for example, Kristin Scott Thomas in the role of Marcus' wife chose such a position that next to her, Annette Bening from American Beauty is an example of warmth and empathy. Only in the last 15 minutes do the fates of the individual characters intersect, and the viewer can feel a certain catharsis. But the film is too long and wanders aimlessly for it to be worth more than three weaker stars. Overall impression: 50%. ()

Englisch Not a bad film at all. I like these depressing, cynical films. The cast was great, so I was going to rate it four stars, but the ending was a low blow. The pacing of the film wasn't frantic, but I enjoyed all those situations where people were wolves to each other, and I had a good time. ()
