(Super RTL)

Englisch Now that's what they call "a role written right on the body"! Hugh Laurie aka Gregory House has such overwhelming charisma that even Dr. Strossmeyer would turn pale with envy next to him :) ()

Englisch Tragicomic life cynicism and dry sarcasm meet within a brilliantly pragmatic doctor, who may at first glance see his patients mainly as objects of amusing scrutiny, but underneath all that black-humored veneer lies an emotionally crippled, but at his innermost core, good-hearted man. With his charismatic appearance as the unshaven and limping doctor, Hugh Laurie deservedly garners all the accolades and recognition. However, it would be unfair to leave out the rest of his teammates/opponents, the most notable of whom is Lisa Edelstein as the hospital director Dr. Lisa Cuddy, who has to keep officially apologizing to that the madman. The concept of episodes that are not connected does not bother me much, nor surprisingly does the series get boring. Although some of the episodes are lower in quality than the overall average, it is impossible not to love this series. If only for the wonderful life philosophy that "everyone lies!" ()

Englisch A variation on CSI in a hospital setting with an American Hippocrates. The entire series focuses on a group of medical outsiders and their untraditional cures for infectious and other diseases. A huge asset and, in fact, the only good reason for watching this is the peculiar creature in the form of Hugh Laurie in the main role. Incredibly cynical, sarcasm oozing, manipulative and unassertive doctor, Gregory House, with a maxim for every situation that is “everybody lies". The fifth star (and the fourth too) in my rating is for him. The fundamental story structure is, like with CSI, the main drawback because the same process of “investigating" the illness repeats itself over and over again. Despite that, this is an above-average and suspenseful series in all respects and you can see that the producer, Brian Singer, keeps a constant eye on the quality, even in later seasons, because it has a rising tendency (rising fairly sharply toward the end). You don’t often see that sort of thing. ()

Englisch I can't say anything less about this one than that it's my sarcastic sunshine that comes out every Monday night... I love his catchphrases, sometimes they make me think. I like the doctor setting and the detective stories and House is a combination of both, so it's absolutely perfect for me! :-) Considering I'm almost all the way through season 5... Wow, I had no idea there were other avenues to go down that House and I didn't go down. This series is really worth it. The "grandiose" exit to the Obama administration. :-) Well, if his departure was "grandiose", then there is no word in the Czech dictionary for a sixth season. ()

Englisch Series that stands and falls with the main character, a cynical and highly peculiar doctor who may set the correct diagnoses and have undeniable success in treating patients, but who also irritates his surroundings with numerous remarks and rough behavior. When watched for a longer period, the problem arises that the blueprint on which individual episodes are created is actually always the same... Overall impression: 80%. ()

Englisch The best medical environment series yet. And mostly thanks to Hugh Laurie, of course. You see, House always the best snappy lines up his sleeve that manage to light up the evening and assure me that the world is a cruel swine ready to trip you up when you’re least expecting it. Season five of House probably deserves a bit of a synopsis. Not only is it the best yet, but it’s also almost astounding that the concept remains the same and the creators still keep on coming up with new ideas. There was no shortage of shocking moments this year and the ending of the season will take the breath away from most typical House viewers. But how’s it going to pan out from here? Will the concept change next time? Will the screenwriters look for other, new and novel trails? Broken: This double episode or perhaps TV movie definitely deserves praise. It changes the overall setting of the series and shows house in a formerly unimaginable situation. This episode never loses momentum and has several climactic moments. Apart from Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard, the cast has completely changed, but the new actors who we’ll probably never see again shined brightly here and I found several favorites among them. If only all “attempts at movies" were this good. 5* Season six changed House and in places changed the episode structure. A good example is the episode about Wilson where his best friend just plays second fiddle. But it’s much more important how House behaves and what’s happening to him. Which climaxes in the closing episodes with an end only expected by spoiler readers. And the creators sure did good work. Otherwise, Chase is back and he’s changed for the better. Thirteen is more beautiful than ever before (Olivia Wilde completely blew me over with her speech in the last episode) and Darth Vader’s voice gets a guest appearance. A darn good season. Season seven at last cut the knot between House and Cuddy and showed House in an undepressed mood just to make the final reckoning that much more crushing. I wasn’t very happy about the disappearance of Thirteen, but Masters proved to be an adept (although not so esthetic) replacement. I waited a good long time for the final shot. For good reason it is said that hell lies in other people. Season eight following Dr. House’s last cases again plays with the motif of return, a new beginning and friendship. The new female recruits to the team were a welcome surprise. Odette Annabelle is gorgeous and a more than satisfactory replacement for Thirteen. And the rise of Chase is also fine. The last episodes revolving around Wilson’s problem are again the best that a drama series can offer. A mixture of suffering, harsh cynical jokes and inevitability. The last episode that basically asks the question if there is any sense in living is a worthy conclusion to the series. ()

Englisch The series "Dr. House" had excellent screenwriters and every story, even though they became very repetitive over time, is presented in such a way that you're waiting until the end to see how it turns out, what the revelation or punchline will be. And they managed to deliver it. I didn't get tired of the series, but I have to say that I'm glad it ended after eight seasons. It didn't have anything new to offer anymore. It ended at its peak, in the best possible way. Of course, I was sad about the ending, but when I look back on it, I have to admit that it really came at the right time, in the right form. This is how we leave behind a series that entertained us for eight years, and I have to say that this also applies to the Czech dubbing, which is really excellent, especially in the case of House himself.
