Ernest hat einen Job ergattert, aber leider muß er zunächst seinen Schulabschluß nachholen. Keine leichte Aufgabe für einen, dem nachgesagt wird, daß sein IQ gerade dazu reicht, die Nase zu putzen. Mit Hilfe eines “Hirnbeschleunigers” läuft Ernest aber zu absoluter Hochform auf – und legt zunächst einmal das Chemielabor in Schutt und Asche. (Verleiher-Text)

Definitely the weakest Ernest film I've seen so far. It's all about the Jim Varney shenanigans now, which just isn't enough for a good story. There's an interesting contrast between the smart and dumb Ernest, but it ends precisely as Ernest becomes more and more stupid. This actually kills it and at times it hurts to watch the film.
