Dirt

In this immigrants’ odyssey based in New York, a woman from El Salvador named Dolores earns her living cleaning luxury flats. It seems that bad luck is on her tail: her husband loses his job, and she loses one of her clients, which keeps her from sending money to El Salvador to build her house. Her Americanized son turns rebellious and Dolores can’t help but to constantly look over her shoulder in case the immigration police turn up. The struggle for a better life can sometimes make us forget what is really important. (Morelia International Film Festival)
