Cassis

In July 1966 Jonas Mekas went to visit a friend, the filmmaker Jerome Hill, in Provence. Hill had bought a house in the port town of Cassis, close to the place where the pointillist Georges Seurat had lived and worked. Using his Bolex, Mekas captured the point of view, the light and the sun on the surface of the sea that the painter watched every day a century ago. One day from morning until evening.
