After the death of her grandmother, Zsuzsi goes to live in Budapest, and she is accompanied by her faithful maid, Kati. Zsuzsi starts working for a joiner, and rents an atelier with four other young women. With the help of a loan, the industrious young women set out to establish the Modern Home Interior Design Company. As the loan expires, they must have money. 5000 silver florins await Zsuzsi upon her marriage, i.e. when she comes of age. At this point, the engineer Németh Péter turns up, whose ailing mother needs to be helped. He agrees to their fictitious marriage, but does not even look at his newly wed wife. Zsuzsi has fallen in love with him at first sight, yet the man wants to divorce her as soon as his problems are solved. Thanks to the endeavours of Zsuzsi's friends, they eventually unite in love. In addition, Zsuzsi's co-tenant, Cili and Kati, also find their lovers. (Verleiher-Text)
