Der Film erzählt die amüsante, erfrischende Lovestory eines jungen Mädchens und eines Tänzers im Sommer des Jahres 1963. Jennifer Grey spielt die 17-jährige Baby Houseman, ein hübsches, unerfahrenes Mädchen, das seine Familie nur widerstrebend in die Ferien begleitet. Doch mit Johnny Castle – gespielt von Patrick Swayze – lernt sie erstmals in ihrem Leben Liebe und Leidenschaft kennen. Castle ist der Tanzlehrer des Feriencamps, sieht blendend aus und kommt aus ärmlichen Verhältnissen. Für Baby ist die Begegnung überwältigend – der erotischen und pulsierenden Musik zuzuhören und gleichzeitig den eigentlich verbotenen, neu kreierten Tanzstil, genannt „Dirty Dancing", zu erleben. In dieser sinnlichen, energiegeladenen Atmosphäre verändert sich Babys Leben schlagartig. Zahlreiche perfekt choreografierte Tanznummern begleiten die Handlung, in der es für Baby auch etliche Probleme zu bewältigen gibt, bis sie schließlich einem strahlenden Happy End entgegensieht. A romantic, sweet summer flick which has a charm of its own. And amazingly, it is possible to sit through it (not enjoy it) even without your better half by your side. Swayze set the bar high for Czech men for a long time, and for some girls this continues to this day. In addition, I have a gleeful desire to throw in one star for the horrible, but truly iconic, Czech dubbing.

In the second half of the 80s, a big hit, practically incomprehensible cult with the passage of time, because in terms of screenplay and acting performances it is an average piece. Even today, I feel that nostalgia plays a significant role in reviewing the film. However, the red library was not yet filmed here, Patrick Swayze was such a handsome man, and young Jennifer was fragile and naive, so the film found its place in the market and succeeded. But the truth is, I still enjoy listening to the song that accompanied the film. A romantic story where music and above all dance play a big role. Overall impression 50%.

An manchen Stellen ist es wirklich schwer zu glauben, dass die Geschichte von Baby und ihrer ersten Sommerliebe im Jahr 1963 spielt. Dies ist ein Film, der durch die Linse von 1987 gedreht wurde, und die Nostalgie der Zeit ist nur ein netter Bonus. Bei allem Kult-Kitsch ist er auch ein reiner Genre-Film, eine beispielhafte Coming-of-Age-Geschichte, bei der alles funktioniert, nichts fehlt und alles präzise zusammenpasst.

Say what you want about this sweet little film, but the fact remains that you won't find a catchier and better cast musical, at least not in the eighties, that the title track is great, and that just for reviving such hits as the Ronettes' “Be My Baby” or Salomon Burke's “Cry To Me”, Dirty Dancing simply deserves its place in the limelight. Where is that music today.

"Baby wird nicht in der Ecke sitzen!" Wir haben immer noch die Original-VHS mit Dirty Dancing zu Hause, auch wenn sie vielleicht schon lange nicht mehr funktioniert, und man wird auch bei wiederholtem Anschauen nicht müde. Als Kind habe ich nicht auf die verschiedenen Details geachtet, die sich vor allem um die Charaktere von Penny und den Schumachers drehten - in meiner Kindheit oder Jugend konzentrierte ich mich vor allem auf den "sündigen Tanz" und die vielen (oft vielleicht ungewollt) humorvollen Momente, die mich auch im Nachhinein noch zu amüsieren wussten. Zwar sind einige Szenen zu kitschig und einige Dialoge klingen geradezu albern - aber das gehört zu diesen klassischen Tanz-Romantikfilmen einfach dazu. Außerdem behandelt der Film, wie ich bereits oben geschrieben habe, auch eingängige soziale Themen. P. S. "Ich habe Melone mitgebracht."

This is simply a matter of the heart. It doesn't matter how many times I've seen this movie, it always manages to captivate me with its music, its dance, and ultimately with its romantic story, which actually isn't as happy as it may seem. It still manages to amaze me with its acting, even though it can be quite naive at times. But I simply love dancing, and that will be one of the reasons why.

The best thing about the whole Dirty Dancing thing is the awkwardly endearing contrast of worldliness and naivety. When Baby says to Johnny "You are everything!" with crystalline sincerity, it’s impossible not to laugh yet experience perverse pleasure at the same time. The ultimate guilty pleasure with an ace soundtrack (and Oscar-winning song!) and an unquestionable place among 80s gems. Plus, it's basically a beautiful fairy tale about a mousy girl who needs a bombastic prince to awaken the right hormones in her. [85%]
