Eine mysteriöse Mordserie beschäftigt das FBI. Joe Merriwether und die Psychologin Katherine Cowles kommen mit ihren Ermittlungen nicht weiter. Joe bittet seinen ehemaligen Kollegen und Freund Dr. John Clancy um Hilfe. Mit seiner hellseherischen Begabung bringt der Psychonalytiker die beiden tatsächlich auf eine neue, heiße Spur. Der Verdächtigte Charles Ambrose erweist sich jedoch als ebenbürtig: er eröffnet ein petfides Spiel mit seinen Verfolgern. (ORF)

I felt like watching a decent mystery thriller that was basically butchered by the director. Starting with a shaky camera and ending with the director’s dictations proving that despite the movie’s mystery core, Anthony Hopkins’s clairvoyant abilities are strange. Touching a person and seeing his future or past is one thing but touching a strand of grass and seeing a whole scene from a few days ago is a little over the top. And that is coming from a person who usually enjoys this genre.

Huge potential and a fantastic cast. An original idea, but a deficient screenplay. The director is evidently cheap, his would-be modern approaches don’t suit the gloomy and mysterious nature of the story. If only someone like Fincher or Fukunaga had got their hands on this. Even so, it’s quite a pleasant watch and Hopkins is excellent as always.

It's such a great, quite well-thought-out, which is somewhat expected because when you have such a variety of actors, and there are really plenty of them, you can't just come up with a bad movie. However, two actors stand out so much that they captivate you more than the story itself, which plays with the viewer a bit. Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell prove their abilities.
