Sensationell. Die erzählerische Inspiration vom Oscar-Preisträger Free Solo ist offensichtlich. Dieser handelte vom besten Kletterer der Welt und wurde vom besten Outdoor-Regisseur der Welt gedreht. Skywalkers: A Love Story ist ein enthusiastisches Projekt über ein junges Abenteurerpaar, mit vielen Selfie-Videos mit Handys und Drohnen – darunter einige der adrenalingeladensten. Wer den Film auf der großen Leinwand sieht, kann ihn mit ihnen erleben. Ein Adrenalinrausch! Aber was den Film so sensationell macht, ist die Verflechtung ihres tödlichen Hobbys, in dem sie den Sinn des Lebens finden, mit der Liebesbeziehung, die sich zwischen ihnen entwickelt und ihnen durch absolutes Vertrauen und gegenseitige Unterstützung hilft, das Unmögliche zu erreichen. Und auch die Verortung ihrer Instagram-Geschichte in der Zeit vom Beginn der Pandemie bis zum Einmarsch der Russen in die Ukraine (mit dem sie nicht einverstanden sind).
