Englisch A movie that can say it has everything a quality American film should have. A young lad Matt Damon, who looks like he belongs to a local high school, hothead Edward Norton, who leads him into trouble immediately after leaving the hole, and a story that pretends to be about friendship but is mainly about survival of two people in today’s world. All of that is intertwined with guitar orgies, great and suspenseful scenes, but also with sweet moments you could hardly imagine missing from a 1990s American movie. But it definitely wasn’t boring. Englisch I'm not a big fan of poker, but thanks to the duo of Matt Damon and Edward Norton, this film is delivered in an entertaining way, and surprisingly, I was left breathless with suspense at the finale. A solid classic and quite possibly the best film on the subject. Story****, Action>No, Humor>No, Violence**, Entertainment****, Music***, Visuals****, Atmosphere****, Suspense****. 8/10. ()

Englisch This Russian... Who would have thought that I would jump on his back so easily and quickly. Now I don't have money, I had to give up the most amazing thing in life and I have to work hard to finish what I started. In addition, I have to cut back on treats at home and hopefully soon my best friend will be released from prison. But when I saw the cards again, especially in the hands of those amateurs, I realized how good I used to be. Did it stay with me? No, I won't go back to playing cards... or... no, I won't go back... Englisch I'd play. That is, if I knew how to play. :) Damon, Norton, Turturro, Malkovich, the beautiful Famke Janssen. They all play absolutely hypnotically, and I watched myself fall into the world of kings, queens, jacks and high stakes. On top of that, the end is not one of the classic “lessons learned" endings, although… in its own way it may be. You know what? I'll leave it up to you. If you can't spot the sucker in your first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker. ()

Englisch Good Will Hunting shows how good he is at poker. Once again he reveals his genius in an unassuming and humble way and struggles with his evil self and his life goals. This was all here a year before, but without the chips. Edward Norton plays the main troublemaker (if he weren't here, nothing would happen at all) and John Malkovich is a genius KGB mobster. Otherwise it's a bland and transparent borefest. If you don't think about the script or what it's actually about and focus on the individual matches, it's pretty good. Unfortunately, as soon as the main character walks through the door in the first scene, it's clear how it all starts and also how it all ends, something that doesn't usually happen in Texas hold'em poker.
