The ghosts of a 19th-century slaughterhouse haunt the Brazilian Cinematheque: where cows would come to die, now films wind up. The former Central Market of Montevideo houses the Uruguayan Cinematheque. An old power plant is now the Film Museum in Buenos Aires. This triptych portrays and connects three film archives through the architecture and the interaction of buildings with urban life. Among the ruins of Latin American history, facing dictatorships, collapses and fires, several voices resonate and resist as best they can in a race against the passing of time and the obsolescence of cinema.
