Howard (James Cosmo), ein verwitweter Seemann, lebt allein an der Küste Irlands und hat Schwierigkeiten für sich selbst zu sorgen. Seine Tochter Grace (Catherine Walker) beauftragt Annie (Brid Brennan), eine liebevolle, reizende ältere Dame, um im Haushalt zu helfen.
