Paranoid

An utterly pointless, generic and forgettable thriller. Actually, I can’t even call it a thriller, because I don’t believe anyone could be even a little worried about poor Jessica. Her acting is, euphemistically put, imperfect, and I don’t even find her attractive or likeable (which would be the only reason not to condemn the film), so an above average rating is completely out of the question. 35% (04.07.2008)

As a thriller, Paranoia sadly fails, and what's worse, it belongs to the worst kind of films that I know. There are bad films that you can figure out within 5, at most 10 minutes, and then you give up on them and focus on something more useful. Paranoia manages to create certain expectations for a long time, but they are not fulfilled in the slightest. In the middle of the film, you might start feeling a bit uneasy, but by then, you tell yourself that if you have endured for so long, you will wait for the ending that will reward you. However, even that is wasted, and the only result is beautifully wasted time... Yes, Jessica is charming, but that is essentially everything this film has to offer. Overall impression: 25%.
