Am 15. April 1452 wird Leonardo da Vinci geboren. Die ersten Lebensjahre verbringt er in seiner Geburtsstadt Vinci, dann zieht die Familie nach Florenz. Es beginnen die Lehrjahre in der Werkstatt des Andrea del Verocchio (Mario Molli). Schon bald übertrifft er seinen Lehrmeister. 1478 erhält Leonardo (Philippe Leroy) seine ersten Aufträge als selbständiger Meister. (Sky)
