Sylvester Stallone returns in a sequel no one asked for. Sly must free his partner from a super-prison and beat up or shoot a lot of people in the process. And it's ugly, boring, with uninteresting performances and generally B-movie like, and not in a good way. This movie has no business being in theaters, so don't let the familiar faces on the posters fool you.

The spooky gang goes on holiday and Dracula falls in love. Unfortunately, with a captain who comes from the family of his greatest enemies... Hotel Transylvania 3 doesn't come with anything new, but if you're a fan of the previous two, you won't be bored. After all, it's just as likeable, cutely styled and full of fun characters, and with such a cadence of jokes that it doesn't matter if half of them don't really work. A fine animated slapstick.

Josh Brolin and his hitman Benicio Del Toro set out to rid Mexico of the drug cartels, but the mission gets a little out of hand and the consequences can be very painful... Sicario 2 is a good slow-burn thriller, but in all respects it loses a little to the first. It's still a proper manly film, though, and a very tough one at that. It's enough for a good thriller, but don't expect an exceptional film this time.

Javier Bardem excels as drug kingpin Pablo Escobar in this brisk and entertaining biopic. His only and rather fundamental problem is that it tells the same story as Narcos, only trying to cram it into two hours instead of two seasons. Those familiar with that series will find nothing but above average craftsmanship and great actors. Those who don't will also find a riveting story of a madman who managed to rewrite history thanks to coke.

Sandra Bullock and her crew are about to steal a three-pound diamond necklace, and they want to look good doing it. Ocean’s 8 wants to be as cool as Ocean’s Eleven, but this gang lacks the charm and some serious thievery to pull it off. Instead, there's plenty of luxury, expensive clothes and jewellery, and all too often the feeling that you're looking at an overpriced fashion catalogue rather than a heist crime comedy.

Han Solo wants money, a ship, freedom and to save his girl. So he decides to take part in a heist that even the galaxy's greatest madmen wouldn't dare. Solo: A Star Wars Story is a brisk, entertaining, old-school adventure flick that is fun to watch, has likeable characters and good actors, and tries to show the world of Star Wars from the bottom up, from a place where there are no Jedi, Force or ambition to rule the universe, just a desire to make big bucks and have a good time. And it's a lot more fun than we'd expect after the creative problems.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This is exactly what the makers of Deadpool 2 followed, sticking to the sequel rules and simply trying to cram more of the things that audiences enjoyed last time into one film. And it works. It's still just as cheeky, gritty and fun. Plus, thanks to a new director, we get a level better action sequences, and besides, the trailers are far from spelling out everything that made it into the film. It's a shame about the slightly more rushed start, but even so, Deadpool 2 is at least on par with the first. Or rather, it surpasses it in every way.

Wes Anderson directed a fun animated film for the whole family, in which he travels through animated Japan alongside the lovable Hufflepuffs. And that's it. As a family flick, it's fine, but as a novelty from a man who has always managed to impress with his playfulness, fun, quirkiness and originality, it's a bit of a slog. Isle of Dogs is OK. Just pretty ordinary and plays it too safe, which may be a bit of a problem for fans of the director.

Stalin is dead and needs to be replaced. There are plenty of ambitious candidates to replace him, and the battle for the throne begins. Winner takes all, loser takes a bullet to the head. It's going to be a ride. The Death of Stalin is a clever comedy that relies on the fact that it features situations that are as absurd as they are terrifying, rather than classic humour. And with a great cast, too. As a purposefully slightly over-the-top reminder of what was happening just a few decades ago, the film works excellently. And as a clever comedy, too.

An oversized gorilla, a wolf and a crocodile meet in Chicago and totally destroy it. Sounds good, right? But before that happens, you're in for a bunch of uninteresting characters, not-very-functional humour and a hackneyed plot. Oh, and the final battle could have been better, too, with a fun color palette and some ideas. In the context of dumb and loud action movies, Rampage is inoffensively average. But if you don't watch it, probably nothing will happen at all.
