Die Akte Jane (1997)

Englisch The film is not badly made at all, but the fact that Demi Moore attempts to style herself into the role of a badass warrior, especially in her full-contact fight during one sequence, really doesn't scare me. Moore was a co-producer and I feel Scott allowed her to get more involved than appropriate.

Die Piratenbraut (1995)

Englisch Geena Davis was supposed to revive her fading popularity with the help of her husband. The result was the exact opposite. I feel sorry for Renny Harlin, because considering what a monumental flop this film was, he didn't do a bad job at all.

Moby Dick (1998) (Fernsehfilm)

Englisch A very weak TV adaptations of Melville’s novel. Very cheap, lacklustre direction and acting, and poor visual effects. Patrick Stewart, I forgive you, but go back to Star Trek or the X-Men.

Lost in Space (1998)

Englisch The film that knocked Titanic off the top of the weekly attendance chart. That is the only interesting thing about it.

Mortal Kombat (1995)

Englisch A thoroughbred B-movie that doesn’t pretend to be anything else. As the saying goes, it’s so silly it’s beautiful. A perfectly relaxing affair where you can safely switch off your brain and you won’t be mad if someone makes noise with their pop-corn or cheers in the cinema. Anderson is a clever B-movie maker who, for a small budget, offered me a 100-minute PC game converted to film strip, with zero plot and wrapped in attractive packaging. Just a nice silly but fun thing. :)

Conan, der Zerstörer (1984)

Englisch The second film on the Conan franchise is not even close to its predecessor. Even Basil Poledouris did a dodgy job.

Vaterland (1994) (Fernsehfilm)

Englisch A story based on the hypothesis of what would have happened if the Germans had won World War II. The premise is pretty interesting, the execution not so much. It's sad for me to see Rutger Hauer, once the replicant Roy in Blade Runner, dabble in B-movie projects like this.

Das fünfte Element (1997)

Englisch If this sci-fi film didn't feature an individual named Chris Tucker, I swear my rating would be higher, but I hate that blabbermouth. It’s a pity Bruce Willis didn’t shoot him to the moon.

Three Kings (1999)

Englisch Originally shot action scenes, an interesting story, great cast lead by Mark Wahlberg, whose performance, especially in the second half is Oscar worthy, all that make Three Kings a must-see film.

Der Sturm (2000)

Englisch A great film with a surprising, non-Hollywood ending – but since it’s based on a true story, they couldn’t end it in any other way. Otherwise, had I seen it on TV, I would give it three stars, because the way the people at ILM created those stormy seas can only be enjoyed in the big screen. But I’m not saying anything new.
