Moulin Rouge (2001)

Englisch Sometimes I tell myself that it's hardly possible for there to exist such a precisely balanced border between deafening noise and indescribable beauty. A highly romantic affair, in which a tremendous amount of tension lies hidden, led by my favorite film scene of all time: The hiding of the main couple, ingeniously built up to the perfect Because she doesn't love you! moment. The pinnacle of cinematography and the most emotionally captivating affair. Thank you, Mr. Luhrmann, for the best film I have ever seen.

Slunce, seno a pár facek (1989)

Englisch Amusing moments are overshadowed by excessive loudness, and despite several well-suited performances, I simply cannot reach a higher rating. I used to be more forgiving, but Troška's roaring pride in rural life is just unbearable with distance.

Die Mühlenprinzessin (1994)

Englisch The peak of Troška's creation from a time when engaging a popular personality in a supporting role did not reek of shame. To this day, I cannot believe how smoothly both romance and fairytale are managed in The Princess, as well as the functioning lines. Without unabashedly cheerful rural interjections, Jindřich and Eliška would boldly aim for the domestic fairytale throne.

Killing Me Softly (2002)

Englisch This film is bad, empty, and sometimes dull. Fiennes' character transformations happen without him. The final twist is pointless and oh, the pity. And yet, when I see Killing Me Softly in the program, I rarely resist. And Heather Graham is to blame for it, tearing my heart apart with her gaze and anything else. Perfect creative calculation in a blonde package.

William Shakespeares Romeo & Julia (1996)

Englisch The film that was given to me by Baz Luhrmann and Claire Danes. And an incredible treasure that is not for everyone to my immense pleasure. From machine gun editing and intoxicating zooms at the pump to the grand interpretation of the most romantic story the world knows - that is art.
