Necrotongue

Korean creators have set a fixed course, which they probably won't change, and for me that's good. The viewer already knows in advance that the plot of the next episode will unfold according to the pattern - investigation (properly tuned with drama and tension) culminating in a frantic action at the end. Well, and I actually like it, I'm having a great time and my mood is only spoiled by those terribly rushed car chase scenes bumper to bumper. / Lesson: Even a Korean policeman can chew like a Canadian coach.

Light breeze, slight rain, and sixteen hours without internet. I thought I wouldn't write anything today... / The series has its positives, it also has many downsides, but above all, it remains an entertaining matter. However, the fifth episode aroused a lot of negative emotions in me when it involved an ethnicity with which I have a serious and unremovable problem. Apparently, I suffer from something that could probably be called selective racism because when you put representatives of both of our largest Asian minorities next to each other, I have a very nice relationship with the Vietnamese, which sometimes goes beyond admiration (although occasionally a worm appears in their apple), while I perceive the Rajasthani immigrants unequivocally negatively based on repeated personal experiences (several healthy pieces of apple are not too visible for the amount of worms). For this reason, the creators amused me but didn't completely please me. / Lesson learned: Knowing how to read and write is not so important if you master numbers, have the laws at your fingertips, and know the word dyscriminacyja.

Each new episode gets more ridiculous, with an overabundance of total idiots among the characters. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this parade of absurdity. It was basically another side plot used as a delaying tactic, but I had a good laugh and learned that English nobility collects almost anything (just like many weirdos withot a noble title). / Lesson learned: German Shepherds often have quite the refined palate.

Episode three felt different from the previous one —I  was even ready to write about the shift in atmosphere and the noticeable drop in action. What a fool I was! I totally underestimated the Koreans because after that wild ending, I had to check in the mirror to make sure I didn't have any blood splatters on my face. What I said about the change in atmosphere still stands, though. The police investigation, the action, and the various stakeouts (even if some were a bit naive) were just as entertaining as the previous gang training scenes. / Lesson learned: In crime? Always take out the scumbags; second chances are dangerous.

Alright, so now I'm hooked on two shows where I'm apparently supposed to root for drug dealers and their associates. Honestly, I'm struggling with that a bit, so in a world where I have to choose between the mafia and crooked cops, I’m sticking to my neutral ground and enjoying the solid, action-packed spectacle the Korean creators have crafted. I'm having a good time so far, and the clear bonus for me is the lack of political correctness. There's no reason for me to rate it less than four stars. / Lesson learned: Porcelain urns have their advantages.

I took another trip to the Korean Peninsula, and I surprisingly gave the pilot episode four stars. The show had a great pace and kept me entertained throughout. The main character was determined and resilient, but at times, she was surprisingly naive, which slightly detracted from her appeal. I hope the series continues in the same vein because what I've seen so far works for me. / Lesson learned: If a woman can casually fix her hair during intense physical exercise, don't underestimate her.

The episode felt mostly like filler. But hey, it was highly entertaining filler. The driver of the white van wouldn't be my first, second, or even third choice for the job, but it was worth it for the laughs. / Lesson learned: If organized crime can't be eradicated, at least let it be run by professionals.

This episode was significantly better than the pilot, driven by more violence and the cleanup that followed. Given the choice between rooting for marijuana growers, cocaine distributors, or meth dealers, I remain an impartial viewer, indifferent to who ends up in the trunk next. / Lesson learned: If Antón Castillo shows up, it's definitely about Viviro — no question about it.

Let’s be honest, it was pretty ridiculous. But, surprisingly, I found it incredibly entertaining despite not expecting much from a Japanese comic adaptation. As I mentioned in an episode review, I enjoyed the world of Japanese yokai much more than the overdone realm of Christian demons. It was playful, funny, and very action-packed. On the downside, it was also predictable and filled with typical Asian cinematic clichés. Still, I had a good time watching it. / Lesson learned: Sometimes, death is just the beginning.

You know, I actually enjoyed the finale. It did surprise me because the Japanese creators played their usual emotional card, but I resisted with all my spiritual strength and savored the arena battle. By the way, I noticed that Japan seems to have weaker concrete. No wonder Fukushima didn’t hold up.
