Überleben - Ein Soldat kämpft niemals allein (2016)

Englisch A pretty novel concept, but not attractive enough to keep the viewer entertained for the whole 106 minutes. The final denouement could be guessed from the trailer, thumbs down for that, at least Armie Hammer is likeable and a few moments were interesting, but overall just average in every aspect. 60%

Alles steht Kopf (2015)

Englisch Overrated utter shit that I felt like turning off after half an hour. For me, one of the worst animated films I've seen so far. Absolutely ugly and disgusting animation, the lack of humour is almost unforgivable, it's not funny at all, on the contrary it's a very depressing affair that will only please EMOs and most importantly it's strictly for kids under 5. Terrible! The only thing that separates me from a Boo! rating is the central idea, which was given a total of ten minutes. 10 percent infantile shit that I never want to hear about again in my life.

Baymax - Riesiges Robowabohu (2014)

Englisch It's been a long time since I've given out four five-star ratings in one week, but Big Hero 6 is guilty pleasure as fuck and every guy's wet dream!! The visuals are incredibly good and at times I felt like I wasn't watching an animated film. All the high tech awesomeness was a joy to watch and I wouldn't have minded if the whole movie had been about robot wrestling, but even the Avengers choice was welcome with a villain that even Marvel wouldn't be ashamed of. All the good characters are likeable and I want Baymax at home! The awesome quips from Fred are pretty cool as well. Perfect entertainment that is both touching and twisted! 90%

John Wick: Kapitel 2 (2017)

Englisch If I'm going to tell someone in 30 years what action movie was hot in 2017, John Wick 2 will come out of my mouth without fail! This film is absolutely revolutionary for the action genre and features everything a proper action movie should have. It is highly elegant, sumptuous, opulent, modern and stylish in its visuals. I even enjoyed the view of the statues and fountains, and they made very good use of the monuments of Rome. The fast cars, solid suits and the decent selection of weapons are also cool. I have no complaints at all about the action itself, it meets the strictest criteria with aplomb. Interesting locations alternating, solid music playing, the camera is clear, the R-rating is perfect and besides the excellent headshots that were in the first one, the second one is spiced up with shotgun shooting or very good fights that the first one lacked. Of course Keanu Reeves can't compare to the elites from Asia in fights, he seemed too robotic at times, but the martial arts capable bad guys save the day. Big praise goes to Common, whom I noticed already in Run All Night and here he proves again that he is not only an excellent villain, but also a great fighter. And second praise goes to the discovery of the year, Ruby Rose, who is not only attractive but can even move (even with a knife!), being deaf and expressing everything in very elegant sign language only enhanced her performance. Story-wise, the film may be simpler, but I personally can't think of a better theme for the action genre than a group of dangerous assassins going after the main character. I'm very satisfied. A threequel is in the works. Anyone who gives less than 3 stars is old-fashioned and without balls in my book. There hasn't been more intense action porn since The Raid. 90%.

Perfetti Sconosciuti - Wie viele Geheimnisse verträgt eine Freundschaft? (2016)

Englisch The Italians are pulling a decent Ace out of their sleeve at the beginning of the year and I dare say already that in the comedy/drama genre this will be hard to beat this year. This is probably the first comedy that is smart, based only on dialogues, without bad words, without teenage humour, without nudity and without awkward situations that I liked ! :D At first I was worried about how the film, set entirely at the table of one dinner between four couples of old friends, would turn out, but the play or the idea is brilliant in itself, that the fun is downright taken care of. The idea of me laying out my cell phone on the table amongst all my friends and any call or text that comes in will be seen by everyone, I probably wouldn't be comfortable with that either.Towards the end the film escalates in such a way that the comedy eventually becomes a nerve-wracking thriller. Very funny, smart, twisted, original and perfect. 100%.

German Angst (2015)

Englisch The first story is the weakest, it is about a lady who has a thing for guinea pigs and occasionally castrates a guy, but out of frame, so nothing too noteworthy (3/10) The second story is much better, it is about a deaf and mute couple who are holed up in an abandoned building, where a bunch of neo-Nazis (decent psychos) are waiting for them, and a game of physical and psychological violence begins. Quite a rough and unpleasant affair (6/10) The third and final story is definitely the best and is signed by the skilful director Andreas Marschall, who is responsible for the great giallo Masks. It's about a photographer who arranges a blind date with a girl who leads him to a very strange private establishment that is not easy to leave (8/10). A very hallucinogenic, trippy, highly erotic and insanely brutal affair at the end. The scene in the bathtub and the following one in bed are two scenes every horror fan should see. 70%

StreetDance: New York (2016)

Englisch I got to this film completely by accident and I have to say that I didn't have such a sweaty ass after the end of a movie, even after Evil Dead, and a t-shirt wet from tears! The film is incredibly vivid, motivating, inspiring, moving, modern, romantic and in one big word breathtaking. There are no well known actors, the entire film is made up of people who are extremely talented in both dance and music and all the numbers put all the dance films of the last 40 years to shame. The finale features a triple combo of ballet, violin and hip-hop, definitely one of the best I've seen in a long time. Also worth mentioning is the battle on the Metro or with the waiters at the celebration. A great show for young people. Too bad the film doesn't have an extra hour. I enjoyed it immensely. 85%.

Havenhurst (2016)

Englisch The inspiration of See no Evil is evident, both by the hotel and the villain. It's a pity they didn't push envelope more on the gore, it could have been a solid carnage that could have stirred a few horror hearts. This way it's more of a nicely shot and atmospheric flick that doesn't offend too much, but doesn't really have anything to impress either. 60%.

Legion - Kapitel 1 (2017) (Folge)

Englisch A couple of decent slow motion shots, but overall it is a decent mess so far to navigate between reality and fiction.

Bad Santa 2 (2016)

Englisch A pretty crazy vulgar Christmas ride, with Billy Bob Thornton having a good time, and it's quite nice to watch. I laughed a couple of times, I wasn't bored, there is a lot of profanity, which I also appreciate, so perfect for a boring evening. 60%
